Studio Policies & Etiquette
Below is a list of our studio policies and expectations. They help us in maintaining a high level of respect among our students and instructors. We kindly ask that as a guest of Posh Fit Studio, you respect the following studio etiquette to keep our business running smoothly:
BE PREPARED:
✓ Bring water; It is important that you hydrate! We have bottled water available for $1 – bring cash.
✓ Bring proper shoes; When attending a class that requires heels, please do not wear the shoes you wore out in the mud, and/ or on a sticky bar floor. Street shoes are frowned upon.
✓ Bring proper clothing; Different classes require different clothing. If you wish to learn to climb, skin contact between your legs and the pole is necessary. Check Facebook for posts on special clothing suggestions on class day.
✓ Remove your jewelry; Wearing rings causes damage to both the poles and your rings. If you have expensive jewelry, it is best to leave it at home.
✓ Bring a yoga mat: We use them for the warm up at the beginning of each class.
✓ Bring your own pole grip or cash to purchase some; We do have a tester bottle available if you’re not sure that grip aid is what you need. Once you’ve sampled the product, please refrain from sampling it again several times so that other students have the opportunity to sample it. There is grip aid available for purchase if you need some. Also, we ask that you not request to “borrow” grip aid from other students. It puts them on the spot and it is not their responsibility to provide for other students.
✓ Fuel your body properly before class; It is the worst thing to have jitters coming down from a caffeine/ sugar high during an intense workout. It is equally bad to have weakness and low energy due to lack of good food. Nourish your body with a light meal to get the most out of your workout.
BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS:
• Do not use oils/ lotions on class days; Moisturizers can make the poles and floors slick, and they build up a residue that is dangerous to you and other students.
• Do not bring spectators or children to class; We value privacy for our students. We would hate to compromise the high level of comfortability we have in our studio due to a stranger watching as we’re learning to move our bodies in new ways. Spectators and children can be distracting to class as well.
• Be sure photos/ videos are not disruptive; Please take photos/ videos during class! We just ask that you choose your timing respectfully. Sometimes, it’s best to wait until the end if you want more than one photo taken or if the instructor is ready to move on.
• Be sure to ask permission first if your photo/ video might include other students; Some students prefer to not be in the background of photos posted to social media sites. Letting others know you will be taking a picture is the best way to give them the option to step aside for a moment.
• Do not interrupt or walk through a class that is in session; Please wait until class has ended if you need to walk through the studio to use the restroom, change, etc.. There is time between classes for this very reason.
• When taking a class, work on the exercises given by the instructor; We absolutely love when our students are creative and experiment with movement; however, there needs to be a structure maintained in classes. Use open pole or freestyle time at the end of class to do your own thing so as not to distract the instructor or other students.
RESPECT THE BUILDING, SPACE AND EQUIPMENT:
• Remove your street shoes at the door; No one wants to roll around on the floor if you just tracked in dirt, salt, rain water, etc...
• Do not touch the mirrors; They take forever plus energy to clean.
• Do not wear stiletto heels on studio yoga mats or crash mats; Mats are damaged very easily.
• Keep food in the front seating area.
• Clean your pole at the end of class; This is respectful to other students in classes following yours.
• Replace your pin if your pole is in spin mode.
• Do not leave empty water bottles/ trash.
• No smoking within 30 feet of the entrance.
UNDERSTAND & FOLLOW STUDIO POLICIES:
All classes must be scheduled in advance online; This is to your benefit as well as your instructor’s. Every class has a maximum capacity. If you do not reserve your spot, you will miss out when class is full. When you register early, you give your instructor an opportunity to plan more effectively. For example, it is much different to plan for students to have their own pole versus having to share.
Payment is required before participation is allowed; When paying at the studio, ONLY cash or check is accepted. You MUST arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of class to make your payment. It is disrespectful to other students having to start late because the instructor is collecting money.
Only payment will reserve your spot for class; Due to the high rate of no-shows when people call to reserve without payment, a phone call will no longer hold your spot for class. You CAN still call to reserve your spot if you have class credit on your account and cannot get to a computer to register yourself.
12 hour minimum cancellation avoids penalty; When you late cancel or no-show a full class, you take opportunity for other students to participate. When you late cancel or no-show a smaller class, your reservation may have been the difference for holding or canceling that class. It affects the atmosphere as well as instructor pay.
After two late cancels, you will be charged $5 per occurrence; For those with unlimited packages, simply losing a class from your unlimited package makes no difference if class is missed. We understand that unfortunate circumstances happen, but to be fair to other paying students who could have otherwise taken your spot, and to uphold the integrity of our business, chronic late cancels and no-shows cannot be tolerated.
Students are not permitted to instruct or spot other students; Only instructors carry liability insurance required to provide instruction/ spotting. Students also lack proper training to ensure safety for everyone at the studio. Do not risk yourself or another student getting injured.
At least three students must be registered for class by three hours prior to start time, or class will be canceled; It is not cost-effective for the studio to hold classes with an enrollment of less than three students.
All class packages have a 30 day expiration.
Packages may not be shared or transferred; When you buy a package, you do so at a reduced rate for yourself only. In order for us to offer specials with lower prices, these packages cannot be disbursed among groups.
Refunds will not be given; Ever.
If you are late to a class with a waitlist, you forfeit your spot; If you will be arriving within five minutes of start time, call or text to let us know and we will hold your spot.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for a class, you may not participate; The first 15-20 minutes of class is devoted to strengthening, conditioning, and warming up our muscles for pole work. When you miss this time, you either risk injury or distract other paying students as you warm yourself up during instruction.
All students must be at least 18 years of age.
All students must sign a waiver of liability prior to attending their first class; Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for reading and signing the waiver. New students arriving at or after start time will be asked to leave so as not to interrupt instruction.
Students are welcome to store personal belongings at the studio; however, the studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property; Your yoga mat and shoes are PROBABLY okay. Understand that we do not know what items belong to each student, so it is at your own risk that you leave your belongings.
