JOANIE
Owner/ Pole Fitness Instructor

Favorite Quote:  “Dance is the only art of which we ourselves are the stuff of which it is made.” ~Ted Shawn

Guilty Pleasure:  90's pop music, I still love N'SYNC and old school Britney Spears

Favorite Color:  Purple

Favorite Historical Persona:  Vincent Van Gough

Fondest Memory:  My birthday is in the middle of January, and is generally a very cold one. On my tenth birthday my grandpa took me out skiing. It was a beautiful sunny day. It was a memory he always remembered as well. I've always loved skiing, I was so happy to be able to experience that with him.

Joanie's Bio:  I am very passionate about art. Painting and drawing has been my favorite hobby for years. I discovered pole dancing in the beginning of 2009. I quickly fell in love with how beautiful and artistic it looked. Once becoming comfortable on the pole I experienced the feeling of losing myself to the music and dance. I didn't realize the flexibility and strength I would gain. I was brought on to the Posh team as the advanced spin pole instructor in 2013. In January of 2016 I was able to purchase Posh-Fit and live out my dream of sharing my passion of pole dancing. Pole has changed my life, in physical fitness a long with a supportive pole family, pole truly fills my soul with joy. Un like any other fitness program I've tried. Pole is mentally and physically rewarding. It has helped learn to love my self from the inside out.

Favorite Quote:  “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain." ~Maya Angelou

Guilty Pleasure:  Wine before bed!

Favorite Color:  Green

Favorite Historical Persona:  Dr. Seuss. He taught love and acceptance through rhymes and cartoons. His books are brain and heart food for everyone!

Fondest Memories:  Dancing in the living room with my mom and older sisters; I was too young to know life as anything but simple and happy. Of course, the births of each of my children are fond memories as well.

Ashley's Bio:  Totally a Midwest girl, I have lived in Wisconsin my entire life. I come from a large family, and have a large family myself. My husband, Bruce, and I blended our children to make a family of seven. We have three girls and two boys, ages 12, 10, 9, 9, and 6. We live in Onalaska (love the community!), and attend Olivet Lutheran Church on French Island. My background is in teaching and coaching, a bit of healthcare, some photography, waitressing, and retail. I'm a Realtor by day. I fell in love with pole dance fitness in 2013, while still nursing my youngest child. I had zero dance background, but have since enjoyed learning from many trainers and studios around the country. More fun facts about me... I have always loved talking to people, teaching them, and most importantly learning from them.  I enjoy learning new skills. I can’t handle spicy foods. I love being outdoors. My nail polish is usually chipped. I smile a lot. I laugh a lot, too. Weddings are my favorite. I like to read, but my mind wanders when being read to. A clean house makes me smile. I have the best friends, factually. I love holding babies. My husband is more fashionable than me. My minivan is named Beyoncé. I love wearing stiletto heels, possibly because I’m only 5’2".

Favorite Quote:  “I see you there—you’re playing small, ignoring your passions, letting your talent languish, dampening your own spirit. You’ve lost all connection with your inner magic, your sense of power, your primal sexy self. How about we put an end to that bullshit?”
~Lux Atl

Favorite Color:  Green

Guilty pleasure:  Middle of the day naps

Favorite Historical Person:  Amelia Earhart was captivated by the beauty of flying, and she knew that life demanded courage before it could grant you any peace. Her phobia was girls raised to live timidly, unable to pursue their passions out of fear of breaking the mold. She would have loved pole dancing!

Fondest Memory:  My fondest memories involve water. I used to really enjoy ice fishing with my dad. Now I sunbathe with my daughters on piles of smooth, warm stones on Lake Superior.

Jen's Bio:  Dance, like any art, begins precisely where the rational limits of the human mind, facing the contradictions inherent to love and loss, fail us. Dance has always been a part of my life, even as I transitioned between seemingly contradictory roles—daughter, scientist, teacher, wife, lover, and mom—I’ve found dance to be transformative in how I understand myself and others. I trained in contemporary ballet and modern dance while living in Minneapolis, but also enjoyed college dance team and studio dance when I was younger. When I discovered pole dancing I was astonished by the sensuality and strength and craved that transformation for myself. My goal as a teacher is to guide students to express sensuality, grace, power, and strength through dance so that these qualities can rise to the surface to be embraced. Sometimes my teaching takes the form of a sexy hip hop routine, a sensual flow of floor movements, or an athletic pole flow. Whatever the choreography, the emphasis is on making movements your own and feeling powerful and expressive in your body.
